As you may know, the Sra. Sapp's Spanish classes have been attending the Salvador Dali school of Art. On November 19th. The honors classes completed their lessons with a field trip to see the Dali exhibit at the High Museum of Art.
If you have had the chance to talk to any of these students, they will tell you that it was an absolutely amazing experience. It was wonderful to see the art in person and cannot compare to seeing pictures on the internet.
Many students have expressed their great appreciation for the art now that they have had a chance to change from theoretical book learning to real-life education. Not only were students studying the art, but they were actively engaged in discussing symbolism and imagery in the paintings. To end a very good day, we ate at El Azteca in Atlanta and the students were required to order and converse with the wait staff in Spanish. They did very well and the staff of the restaurant were very understanding and patient. A huge thank you goes out to Mr. Sercan, Ms. Allenson, Ms. Morgan, Mr. Sapp, and Ms. Castillo. Thank you all for helping make the trip a memorable one!
